as one they can’t get the fire going but they pitch
a tent against the wind / hope their weight is enough
or are they growing lighter? holes in the map where
too many thumbs rerouted. when respite from
home. when drunk. imagined differently, the water
shiny as in not us. it’s good when memory stumbles.
to be so wide. to be a vat of picked fruit, waiting.
